Twenty-Two (22) Trainees on Small Engine Repair passed the Competency test

TESMONIAL

Our Barangay Maniango is a coastal area wherein fishing is the main livelihood. During rainy season especially when visited by typhoons, our motorized small banca often shattered and will paralyzed our source of living. As an automotive graduate, to mend/fix the damaged caused by the typhoons is not sufficient.

When I heard about the free skills training on Small Engine Repair of Western Union and AWECA Foundation, I was really enthusiastic with the skills training undertaken in our town of Minalin, Pampanga, a five (5) kilometers from our house did not hinder me to pursue the training course. Day by day, massive training in acquiring skills moved me to give my ultimate best to gain my dream of becoming knowledgeable in repairing our source of transport living.
It adds to my eagerness the information given by our trainer that we will be receiving a Certificate of Training duly signed by the
Provincial Director of TESDA if we could finish the sessions.

It is really a big sacrifice knowing that I could still make a way for our daily living and the far distance of the venue. Nonetheless, the sacrifice will not equal the lifetime knowledge and skills I will get on this training. But it did not end there- we will be receiving another License if we will pass the competency test. I really exerted extra effort on going to the training venue and learned what our trainer is teaching.

My sacrifice paid –off.  I have received my Certificate of Training and expecting another one for passing the competency assessment in Small Engine Repair - my vehicle in fulfilling a mission in my family and community.

To date, I am now repairing motorized small banca and motorcycle. I put up a small repair shop in my house and at the same time serving my neighbors and gladly accepting payments of grass and common fish from them in lieu of cash due to poverty.

I would like to thank the Western Union Foundation and AWECA Foundation for the gift of labor given to this free skills training that will benefit me, my family and neighbors for a lifetime.
