AWECA FOUNDATION, INCORPORATED
HISTORY AND BACKGROUND On the 10 th day of October 1991, a milestone took part in the history of Corporate Social Responsibility; the birth of AWECA Foundation, Incorporated (AFI) was established by the AWECA Group of Companies to contribute in the development of the countryside. Being the social arm, AWECA Foundation shall accomplish its community development-oriented mission through collaborative effort with the community partners and various organizations concerned. AFI, being a non-stock, non-profit organization, was duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission ( Reg. No. 196774 ), licensed and accredited by the Department of Social Welfare and Development ( Lic. # DSWD-FO RL-000005-009 & Acc. No. DSWD-SB-A-000175-2009 valid until September 16, 2012) as Community Based Social Welfare Agency and Philippine Council for NGO Certification as Donee Institution (on process). Awarded as 2002 Best NGO 1st Runner-up in National level and 2000 Best NGO in Region 3 by the DSWD Gawad Paglilingkod sa Sambayanan ( GAPAS Award ). Nominated in the 2004 Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prize. |
